Question by SWKStudent Started on 8-5-10: Are there any artist out there that don't make music about materialism, sex or maintaining their "image"?

seems like every song on the radio is about materialism (money, cars, clothes), sex or image (maintaining their image through materialism and sex). Are there any good artist that make positive music about something, something about makes you think or that is about the spiritual aspects of life. And I'm not talking about Gospel music necessarily.

I agree about Lupe and especially K'naan..
I mostly like neo soul type music and some "hip hop" but I'm open minded. The only genres I don't like are techno, country and heavy metal lol.

Yes, there are plenty. Just turn off your radio and look else where.

@OP: You have the internet for one thing. There are so many artists out there who sing about alternative topics.
